Miami is one of the leading capitols of the world, representing only the finest in fashion, art design, architecture, theatre, and FILM! Us Miamians may sometimes take our city for granted and not realize the beauty and entertainment that it has to offer. As a company representing video, photography, and film, we love to encourage current and prospective clients to attend many of the art and film-related activities Miami has to offer.
As some of you art enthusiasts may already know, the Miami Art Museum is opening its newest addition, the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), December 2013. The Museum will have a “breezy and tropical feel” as stated by the Miami New Times, in order keep with the vibe an atmosphere that attracts tourists to Miami. Read more about the PAMM opening and check out some cool photos here.
In a great promotional effort to raise awareness on PAMM’s grand opening only a few months away, the Miami Art Museum is hosting a summer film screening series. Titled Lights Out: PAMM Summer Screenings, the series consists of three events that will be hosted in various locations throughout Miami. Unfortunately for those only finding out about this just now, the first installment already took place during early July.
However, the second portion of this three-part series will be taking place on Thursday, August 1st at 6PM in the Miami Beach Cinematheque. The screening will include two French films, the first being Black Girl, directed by Ousmane Sembene, and the second titled Afrique, directed by Mamadou Sarr. You can attend this event for only 10 dollars if you are not an MBC or PAMM Member.
The final part of the film series will be held on Saturday, September 28th at 4PM in the Tower Theater. They will be screening the film Tea, by Mario Garcia Torres. General admission will only be 10 dollars for this event as well.
